Welcome to our school. St Patrick’s School educates children within a Catholic environment giving them the foundation and encouragement to reach their full spiritual, intellectual, physical and emotional potential throughout their lives.
St Patrick’s School is a Special Character, full primary school close to the Central Business District of Greymouth, which proudly offers a Catholic Education for boys and girls. Our school is a Roman Catholic School in which the whole school community, through the general school programme and in its Religious Instructions and Observances exercise the right to live and teach the values of Jesus Christ.
By being inspired to live and share the Catholic faith through education, learners are encouraged to reach their full potential, embrace integrity, respect themselves and others, become lifelong learners and will be prepared to be fully integrated members of our community. At St Patrick's we aspire through faith and excellence to be: just, resilient, enterprising, skilled communicators and team players.

Year 7/ 8 Camp – Bridge Valley - Brightwater Camp time!
Planning for 2027 Year 7/8 Camp Our 2027 Year 7 and 8 students will be going to Bridge Valley in Brightwater for their annual camp. Bridge Valley is located near Brightwater, Nelson, approximately 20 minutes’ drive south of Nelson city. We will be away for three nights, travelling by vans. The date of camp is Tuesday 9 February 2027 to Friday 12 February 2027. We have tried to keep the cost of this camp to a minimum. The Parent Teachers Association subsidises all students attending camp. Cost of the camp will be approximately $390.00 per child of which the PTA have subsidised which has already been deducted from the above cost. The cost includes travel, accommodation and meals. The cost of this camp is yet to be finalised. Payments can be started at the school office at any time if you wish to do so. All school camps are to be paid for before you leave for camp. As a Catholic school, we will do what we can to ensure no child is disadvantaged by the cost of this camp, so please feel free to contact Mr Johnson or Mrs Whitmore to discuss payment options for this camp. We are looking for an enthusiastic group of parent/caregiver helpers to assist us on this camp. Please either email office@stpatricksgm.school.nz or complete the form on Skool Loop to indicate if you are available. We ask this to be completed by Friday 2 July. There is no cost to our parent/caregiver helpers, but numbers are limited. All parent / caregiver helpers are required to complete the police vetting process, which we will organise for you. We also require two emergency vehicles for this camp If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Yours truly Ian Johnson Principal

The West Coast Rugby Union is exploring the possibility of delivering a Girls Rugby Development Camp and Festival Day during the second week of the July Term 2 holidays, between 13–19 July.
The purpose of this Development Camp is to provide opportunities for all junior through to secondary school girls to grow their skills, knowledge, and passion for the game of rugby. It aims to build confidence, connection, and enjoyment as part of the rugby sisterhood that the West Coast Rugby Union hopes to strengthen within our girls.
We want to hear from players and Whānau to understand what opportunities would be most valuable, accessible and enjoyable for girls across the Coast.
Your feedback will help shape any future programme and determine whether there is sufficient interest to proceed.
The goal is for the programme to run across 3–4 days (depending on numbers). Days 1–3 will focus on skills, technique, and development. Day 4 will be an all‑girls festival day, where participants from the development days will play a game of rugby against each other — girls vs girls!
Please indicate your expression of interest by using this link to answer the questions to help the union get a clearer idea of what this programme might look like for our community.
